On the Aventine Hill, across from the Circus Maximus, sits the Rome Rose Garden (Roseto di Roma Capitale), a public garden. The park opened its doors in 1931. There are more than 1100 rose varieties produced here, many of which are gifts from other nations. The 10,000 m2 Rome Rose Garden is divided into sections, each of which has rose types that are typical of or grown in that variety.
